The Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) wishes to extend its congratulatory wishes to Mr. Unathi Kamlana and Ms. Astrid Ludin on being appointed as the new Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) respectively.
ABSIP welcomes Minister Tito Mboweni’s decision appoint Unathi and Ludin. The Financial Sector Conduct Authority is an important body in the financial sector providing oversight on regulation and conduct in financial services sector. Both Unathi and Ludin bring with them wealth of experience in market conduct and regulation. Their backgrounds demonstrate that they are both ideal candidates for the roles.
Between 2011 and 2018 Unathi played a role in implementing the Twin peaks reforms during his tenure as Head of Policy, Statistics, Legal & Industry Support Department for the Prudential Authority at the South African Reserve Bank. Ludin also brings 20 years’ high-level experience from both the public and private sector which include leading landmark reforms of credit, consumer protection and company law whilst serving as Deputy Director-General at the Department of Trade & Industry.
ABSIP wishes both Mr. Unathi Kamlana and Ms. Astrid Ludin well on their endeavours and will be supporting them during their term in office.
