Steven SeakaDeputy President
Stephen is Head of Public Sector Africa at Absa Bank Limited. The Public Sector portfolio includes state-owned companies and metros that are driving the R3.1trillion South African government infrastructure programme across the energy, transport and water sectors.
He is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of various funding solutions ranging from Project Finance, Private Public Partnerships, Debt Capital Markets and Commercial Bank funding.
He is the deputy president of ABSIP and sits on the board of Absa Vehicle Management Services. Stephen holds a Mechanical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand, a B.Com from the University of South Africa and CFA level 2.
He worked for the Standard Bank Treasury division before joining the treasury department of AngloGold Ashanti where he spent four years.
Here re-joined Standard Bank – Treasury/Global Markets Division – in 2006 to be part of different Sales & Structuring Teams ranging from: Foreign Exchange, Commodities & Interest.
In 2010 Stephen was promoted to head up the Energy, Power & Infrastructure and Emerging Business and Strategic Investment Sectors given his extensive networks and deep understanding of the sectors.
